Wow! What an incredibly creative week our Tairāwhiti schools had last week for Te Wiki o Te Reo Māori! My mum (Kōka Amie) went around lots of great local kura and was so impressed at how tamariki were using ako, hanga, tohatoha to explore their learning. One place she went was to Gisborne Intermediate, where she knows there are super creative kids, because she used to teach there from 2013 to 2019.
These tamariki were learning about how using uniform (the same all the way through) colours, a brand can create images that all look as though they belong to the organisation. This helps their message. She taught the kids about how we could use Color Pick Eyedropper to find the exact colours in an image. This can be really great to use for writing your CV - a document that you create to apply for a job, that tells people who you are and what your skills are. I wonder if she can create one for me? I'm just a little dog, but one day I might want a job being a guide dog or a kiwi tracker or something cool!
Check out the Gisborne Intermediate examples of what they've created using some of the amazing content and resources put together by the Te Wiki o Te Reo Māori team at https://tetaurawhiri.govt.nz/rauemi-a-ipurangi/rauemi/te-wiki-o-te-reo-maori-2021/
What do you enjoy the most about their designs?
